Mavis turns 118!!!

Have you heard?  It's Mavis' 118th Birthday!

We celebrated with some friends and had a Monster of a good time.

Mavis is a "young" monster that lives at Hotel Transylvania.  (In Theaters Sept 26th)

The kids had lots of fun playing games and running around.  The party was a great start to the Halloween season for sure.  All of the kids took turns playing mummy in the graveyard.

We had a simple witches brew punch (green punch) and orange mummy fingers (cheetos)  for snacks.  My husband made a mummy wrap for the adults.

The adults had a good time too.  Everyone enjoyed celebrating Mavis' Birthday!
Good music and good times.  We also made a date to see the movie once it comes out on DVD (as our kids are small and some parents said they didn't think that the theatre would work well.)  The best part is that when we watch it we get to have a party all over again!

With my party pack were links to many Hotel Transylvania online games.  We tried them all out.  The mini games were much harder than I thought.  I could hardly level up on the first three.  You have to be quick for sure!

The memory game is the best for our kids.  But they still had to be fast.  The older kids were able to get to the level with shuffling, but not past it.

However, this last game on Facebook was lots of fun.  I spent one morning playing with Wyatt and got to level 10.  It sucks you in for sure and is competitive with some of the more well known popular Facebook games.  It is certainly worth checking out and adding me as a neighbor!

After the party my kids insisted on getting their Haloween costumes.  Although there won't be any monsters in our house this year, they still had lots of fun celebrating Mavis' 118th Birthday!

Thank you CrowdTap for allowing us to host our friends and get together for Hotel Transylvania!

Old Navy Cardi Party!

Look fabulous this fall thanks to Old Navy!

My friends and I got to try on Old Navy's Fall Line!  Old Navy has a fabulous selection of skirts, cardigans, and scarfs to fit with anyone's wardrobe!

We were pretty excited with all the colors when we arrived

We tried on countless combinations including:

I had some color preferences and we all really liked the brown skirt, but it just wasn't quite working.  I loved the stretchy colored ones, but they needed to be a dark color.  One size too big was baggy, but the size lower did this:
I loved this, but I'd never wear it because I'd have to be conscious of panty lines!

One of the fun things about shopping at Old Navy...Spot! :)

It looks like spot has changed a little bit, but he's fun none the less.

After countless changes and mounds of scarves, these were the leftovers in our dressing rooms.  I mean seriously, look at those scarves!

Sorry for the mess Old Navy Employees!  Don't worry though, we were nice and not only did we rehang and neatly fold our clothes for the go backs, but we actually took that whole pile of scarves and put them back on the rack on the floor.

The best part, was that after all of that, look at what we finally chose:

Can you find us?  Do you notice anything?

Look again

We all chose the SAME teal cardigan and jeans skirt!  However, we were able to put our own original spin on our outfits with different scarves.  For me, this was a lesson in accessorizing.  We tried that HUGE pile of scarves, and each of us ended up with the same outfit, yet totally different based on the scarf we picked out!

Our trip was a huge success and we had lots of fun.  I am so thankful for the wonderful Old Navy employees who helped us with photos and patience while we pranced around the store grabbing new colors and sizes.

As for our fourth friend, well, she had an emergency the night of the party, so she went back on her own.  We kept it a secret that we all picked the same outfits, just to see what she would pick.
Ha!  She's an original!  We all actually tried on this combination also during our visit.  I love the green and brown combo and the scarf looks lovely!

Thank you Old Navy and CrowdTap for the wonderful experience and I hope you go check out Old Navy's fall line yourself!  www.oldnavy.com

Nickelodeon Parents Connect

I have recently discovered that there are lots of people on Facebook that say that Nickelodeon Parents Connect is a fraud.

I find this hard to believe because it is Nickelodeon. That is a BIG NAME and BIG MONEY. They have no reason to screw anyone over.

But I wanted to write for a moment and talk about why I KNOW they are not a fraud. I have won many prizes from Nickelodeon Parents Connect Parties.

I will admit that they take a long time to get the prizes to you. So long in fact, that I actually moved away from a house before a prize arrived 9 months after I was notified that I won and about a year after the party actually happened.

Prizes that I have won were:
A set of super cute hats for my kids
A huge Bean Bag Chair
A day at a daycare
and 2 more that I know I got and just can't think of right now

So over a year ago (March or so 2011) they had a Bacon Party. I never received the prize. I didn't think much of it because I know the prizes take a LOOOONNNNGGGG time to get there.

But I sent an email to them saying

 "I haven't seen this prize."

And after another loooonnnnngggg time I got an email from an actual person saying

"I'm so sorry, I'm working on it."

Another month later I got an email saying

"I'm still working on it, promise."

Again, I can't look a gift horse in the mouth, so who am I to complain about timing when I didn't pay a darn thing for it. Finally I got an email saying

"Here is an amazon gift card for the amount of the prize, plus a little for shipping. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Now, this is not the exact wording of the emails, but seriously, who could possibly complain?! I got a free amazon gift card to do with as I please to make up for the fact that they weren't able to get a prize sent to me that I didn't pay for. Now that is a stand up company.

For those of you out there that are tired of waiting, give it time. They are not a fraud. They want people to be happy. And they will make it right. Thank you Parents Connect for being awesome and although I have taken a long break from playing your parties (since I knew I was moving and it takes a long time), I will be back to participating soon! I can't wait to see what other awesome prizes I can win!

Fridgetender End of Summer House Party!

Do you like mixed drinks? Do you get tired of having to take the time to mix them? Not to mention the cost of liquor for a house full of people?! For your next get together pick up some Smirnoff Premium Malt Mixed Drinks! We held an awesome End of Summer House Party with awesome friends and family. My shopping trip was quite successful.
My fridge was ready
The table is set
Now for some fun!
As people arrived, everyone had to try on the Fridgetender masks. (yes, even the dog!)
Of course they didn't have any alcohol, but the kids had a blast too!
The night ended with great laughs and good times. And the kids even pulled out the tent for an end of summer last slumber party in the tent!
It was a great party. My empties are proof that I enjoyed my Smirnoff Mixed Drinks! My favorite was the Cranberry Lime. It had lots of flavor and tasted like a real mixed drink! The screwdriver was a close second. Of course I also loved the Lemonade and Blueberry Lemonade as well! The case of Smirnoff ran out quickly though, so next time I'll have to get two! Everyone wanted to try them. Everyone loved them. Everyone had a good time! What a great way to end the summer!
(And you know everyone had a good time, because at some point these started showing up in random places around my house. Mostly looking out random windows, but also at the computer, in the garage, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple that I haven't found yet!)
